MARKET UPDATE JANUARY, 2017
Here are the latest real estate statistics for the month of January, 2017 as reported by the Toronto Real Estate Board.
The real estate market for Toronto, Mississauga and the Greater Toronto area are still busy. Due to a shortage of listings it has created a Seller’s market, This in turn is leading to multiple offers on most properties. Many sellers are getting much high than asking price for their home. This also makes it very difficult for buyers looking to buy their dream home. It can be very discouraging when you are having such a hard time trying to buy a house. Don’t give up. Talk with your realtor and make a plan. Decide how much you can comfortably afford to pay. Stick to your budget and don’t make an emotional purchase. I will happen eventually and it will be worth the wait.
Keep in mind that buying a home involves more than the purchase price. There are some extra costs involved.
Average Sales Prices are up 28.47% over January, 2016
Days on market are down 43.33% to 17 days, down from 30 days in January, 2016
Average list to sell ratio up by 6.12% from 98% to 104%
